Karl discovered the E-Sea-Rider bean bag chairs are the best seat in the house!

You'll find the best sunset view from atop the mountain at Villa Caletas, 10 minutes from our condo.  Enjoy a cocktail as the magnificent Pacific Ocean swallows the afternoon sun.  That's Cabo Blanco in the distance (just left and below the sun), some 30 miles NW of Los Suenos.

The Roosterfish is one of the coolest looking fish you can catch.

We discovered a "Pot-O-Gold" where the rainbow landed at Los Suenos, Costa Rica.

Thank you Eric Wickstrom for the amazing photos on this page.
"It came out of the water, arced out horizontally headed in the same direction as the boat.  The sailfish was out further, maybe twenty five yards, and didn't bang its head on the water.  It shook it back and forth, and then went down again.

I came to my senses and waited as I slid over to the fighting chair.  I braced my legs on the footrest and just then the sailfish came out of the water, close in.

It shimmied on its tail for longer than physics seemed to allow, and it lit up an electric neon blue, dark blue with lighter stripes.  I had read about this phenomenon of billfish lighting up and then switching off next to the boat... but I had never seen it firsthand.

In the light rain and the flat gray background, the effect was stunning.  The fish was a large, illuminated letter on an old manuscript.  It crashed back into the water and then, almost immediately, was up again on another long tail-walk.

I was mesmerized."
